Back to Grad School (online): Supplies
I am always a sucker for new school supplies: notebooks, bags, pens. But this year, my first year teaching, will also be my first year doing grad school online. These are the supplies I’ve picked up (some at the recommendation of this post by LD Burnett. Some of these are more standard issue school supplies: notebooks, sticky notes, pens. Others are for my class via zoom (as well as my back).
These mini notes from one of my favorite stores (Calliope Paper) are great for tiny messages, jotting down phone numbers, or including in letters. I love the pencil and the back has ruled lines on it. Super cute.
I don’t actually need new sticky notes but I always use them and how could I say no to plant kitties????
These pens aren’t the usual for note taking—for that I use my beloved Pilot Varsity fountain pens or the Tul pens from Office Depot. But sparkle pops maske taking notes SO much fun. I realized, after buying a million multi packs, that I ran out of the pink SO fast. So I just bought a whole box of them. My notes will be fabulous.
I love Poketo so much and these tabs are so bright and fun! I plan on using them in my dissertation journal (this journal from Darling Clementine)
For online teaching, I decided on gaming headphones. They are noise cancelling and include a mic, which will be great for Zoom discussions and recorded lectures. I somehow resisted buying the ones with cat ears but I thought these pink ones would be fun!
This isn’t the cutest stand available, but it is perfect for its intended purpose—saving my back from hunching. I also prefer typing on an angle.
I decided to get a ring light after reading LD’s post (and also because I trust the Tik Tok dancers). It works great, though because of my glasses I often have weird reflections. Got to figure that out before school starts.
I love a folder but have very particular taste. I like that these keep everything fully enclosed but allow you to peak at the papers inside with the little arch. Maybe I am overthinking this? Whatever. I still need two more folders, not sure if i’ll switch it up from these!
I love Jenni Bick, for journals mostly. This cheeky Leuchtturm 1917 seemed like a perfect motivator.
I don’t quite have a use for this journal yet, but it was too cute not to grab!
