Can I be an academic fashion blogger?
For so long, throughout late high school and all of college, I wanted to be a fashion blogger. Not an influencer, but just someone posting their outfits on a blog and maybe lookbook. But in the last month or so I’ve started posting my daily outfits on Instagram, mostly for fun and because it helps motivate me to put on looks even when I am just zooming all day. So I figured, I might as well go ahead and post them here too.
Living in Texas is an exercise in trying to get that fall aesthetic when it’s not actually fall weather (though we have had a few weirdly cool mornings). This is one of my very favorite skirts, bought a few years ago from Retrolicious paired with this fun yellow top I got super on sale at Modcloth (of course). This giant scrunchie was actually a target find. But I think the color combo gave it some fall/academic feels even if it was a million degrees. Thinner fabrics, shorter sleeves, and not wearing tights have been key to my Texas fall wardrobe. But I can still layer in my air conditioned apartment!
This is the time of year I miss home the most. Like, I miss the weather, the scenery, the creepiness of Central PA. I definitely cannot go back this fall but hopefully whenever COVID ends/calms I can make a trip. I know Central PA isn’t like New England fall but I honestly think the sites are just as good.
Anyway, I will probably keep narrating my life and my fashion choices here as well as on insta.
