Books That Matter Box Review: I Was Not Made to Be Subtle
I’ve been subscribing on and off for over a year now and Books That Matter is still my favorite subscription box. It is explicitly intersectional feminist, showcases diverse voices, and because it is british I get fun editions not available in the US. There almost always gorgeous art included. It takes a while to make it across the atlantic, but it arrives in pretty good shape! It always includes a book, but sometimes you get two or like in this box, a special essay by the author of this month’s book. I think they do spooky best, so am very much looking forward to October.
I love the self-care items here-wax melts and tea. Super sweet.
I haven’t read the book yet, but it has been added to my post orals list! But I love the little prints (very fun to slip into care packages), the essay, and the amazing pencils. “I was not made to be subtle” should be on my tombstone some day.
